Ozempic (semaglutide) is a once-weekly injection; steps from the FDA label. Dates are the minimum spacing in the label, laid on a calendar, not a recommendation to step up. Your prescriber sets the pace, and a step can be delayed or held at any dose, for example while side effects settle.

Quick answer: The maintenance doses are 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg, and 2 mg is the maximum. A missed dose can be taken within 5 days; after that, skip it. The injection day can move if at least 2 days separate doses.

Educational summary of the FDA label, not medical advice. The label sets the minimum time at each step; your prescriber sets your actual schedule, which can be slower at any point. Never change a dose or step up on your own.

What is the Ozempic dosage chart?

Ozempic (semaglutide) starts at 0.25 mg once weekly and moves up in steps, each held for at least 4 weeks. At the minimum pace the label allows, the top dose of 2 mg is reachable at week 13, and the first maintenance dose at week 5.

What does the Ozempic label say about missed doses and changing your injection day?

If an Ozempic dose is missed, the label says to take it as soon as possible within 5 days of the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on the regular day.

The day of the weekly injection can be changed if necessary, as long as at least 2 days (48 hours) separate two doses.

The label moves from 0.5 mg to 1 mg, and from 1 mg to 2 mg, only if needed and after at least 4 weeks on the current dose; 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg are all maintenance doses.

Strengths. Multi-dose pens that deliver 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg, 1 mg, or 2 mg per weekly injection, and single-dose prefilled syringes in 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, and 1 mg.

Is the Ozempic schedule the same as Wegovy?

They start the same way, 0.25 mg once weekly for 4 weeks and then 0.5 mg, because both are semaglutide. After that they split: Ozempic moves up only if needed, to a 2 mg maximum, while Wegovy, the semaglutide brand approved for weight management, steps through 1 mg and 1.7 mg to a 2.4 mg maintenance dose by week 17. The Wegovy dosage chart has that schedule.

FAQ

How long do you stay on 0.25 mg of Ozempic?

Four weeks, per the label. 0.25 mg is a starting dose, not a maintenance dose; the label then moves to 0.5 mg.

What is the highest dose of Ozempic?

2 mg once weekly, reached only if needed and after at least 4 weeks on 1 mg.

What if you miss an Ozempic dose?

Take it as soon as possible within 5 days of the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your regular day.

Are the dates in the planner a recommendation to step up?

No. They are the minimum spacing the label requires between steps, laid on a calendar from your first injection date. The label sets a floor, not a schedule: your prescriber decides whether and when you move up, and staying longer at any dose is allowed.

Is this dosage chart free, and do I need to sign up?

Yes, it is free, and no sign-up or email is required. Pick the medication, enter your first ${first} date, and the schedule updates instantly; there is a print button for the fridge or the clinic. The GlucoPal iOS app it comes from is also free to download.
